An applicant tracking system does not read your resume the way a person does. It extracts the text and compares that text with the job posting. The comparison is mostly keywords: job titles, tools, certifications, education, and years of experience. A line the posting marks required counts more than a line it marks preferred, a plus, or nice to have.
Paste the posting and the resume you would send. This checker is free. It pulls each requirement and responsibility it can see, then shows which ones your resume already supports and which phrases are missing. The evidence is the specific words on your resume, not a nearby line that happens to share one word. If the posting title is not a title you have held, the note says so. It will not claim that title is on the resume when it is not.
Add a missing phrase only when it is true. “Proficient in Microsoft Office” does not stand in for the tool the posting named. Put Salesforce, Excel, Python, or the certification on the job where you used it. Years come from dates. A range such as 2020 to Present can be counted. “Several years” cannot.
Formatting is the other half. Use your name, email, phone number, and city, and headings a system expects: Experience, Education, and Skills. Keep employment dates in one format. Tables and columns often lose words when a PDF is extracted. This checker cannot see columns in pasted text, so it says that instead of guessing. A single column is the safer file to send.
Nothing here promises an interview or a job. The score is a match against this posting. Required items weigh more than preferred ones, and formatting problems are included. When you want those true phrases written into a tailored resume, plus a tracker, interview practice, and offer negotiation, that is the job-hunt pass. One-time payment. We help you get hired, from start to starting.
Questions
- Is this ATS resume checker free? Yes. Paste a resume and a job posting. There is no signup and no card. The job-hunt pass is a separate one-time payment if you want the tailor and interview practice.
- What does the match score mean? It is the share of this posting's requirements your resume already covers. Required items count more than preferred ones, and formatting gaps count too. It is not a promise of an interview.
- Should I add every missing phrase? Only the ones that are true. The fix line is the posting's own phrase, for you to add if you have done that work.
